10's

Pinterest.

I am completely and utterly obsessed with Pinterest. I hardly have time to complete all of the projects that I need to do, because I am still pinning all of the projects I wish I could do. I'm not the only one, right?

With that said, here's my Top 10 Favorites of this week:

1.

I love the idea of using old pallets for creatively organizing things, and I love it even more when they can help us get organized. This pin came via DumpADay.com, who has a brilliant article of 35 Amazing Uses for Old Pallets! This pallet turned bike rack is easy for the kids to use and gives them a clear and concise place for their bikes every time. Plus, doesn't it look very cute and country?

2.

I have to confess that I am horrible with filling in "little spaces" while decorating - that, and I'm a nightmare when picking colors. I'll be sure to one day share the story of the dresser in my bedroom that is honestly close to 9 different shades of blue, all because I'm an indecisive person.
Sighhhh.
Luckily for me there are color geniuses over on Pinterest who understand and empathize with my plight, and have "dumbed" it down for me a bit. Behold, Super Neutral Decorating Paletts (and Projects)... 13 colors featuring the name and brand (even easier!). The best part? They all look great together!

3.

I've seriously been obsessing over this project for days now. Every time I sit down to Pinterest I find myself glazing over this tutorial again and again and again! I'm thinking of doing this project as a makeshift pantry in our tiny little kitchen. 3 bookshelves, chalkboard paint, and some decoratives... I can't wait! The Smith's have a great picture tutorial over here if you'd like to give it a try. I'll be sure to share mine when I get it up and going.
4.

Sadly our living room is not shaped to do this, but we have a big move coming up and I hope our new home will allow it! I love all of the space and organization ideas that come from this. There isn't a tutorial (or even a live link) but the idea certainly has me thinking!

5.

I'm sure I've worn my family and friends smack dab down from all of this talk lately, but our boys will be playing football this year and I couldn't be more excited! I'm thinking of using this printable from Eighteen25 as the center in a photo wall cluster. Fun?!

6.

The funny thing about having kids is that you stop "living for today" and start living for someone else's tomorrow. I haven't always been "green" nor do I claim to be now. I realized a while ago that there are actually little things that I can do to make an impact. We are (unsuccessfully) growing our own herbs and some veggies (also unsuccessful), I try to clean with more natural products like lemons, oranges, olive oil and vinegar. Last night I came across this pin from TLC and knew I had to try it! Did you know you can grow your own loofah sponges? It's this entirely self-sustaining process that takes about 6-ish months, the result is huge green vines with big beautiful yellow flowers and long green gourds. Once dried, you peel away the skin and dry out the insides which are your loofah. The best part? The inside of the loofah is chocked full of seeds for your next crop! I'm absolutely in love with this idea, and with a packet of 12 seeds only costing around $4 this project will immediately pay for itself!

7.

When I was younger my favorite aunt was an avid organizer. She had lists and Excel sheets and schedules for everything. I always thought it was a little funny and I just couldn't understand why she wanted to stress herself out over those papers! As an adult with 2 active young boys and a sweet but forgetful husband, I saw the light!!! Yes, it takes time to get all of the organizations into place but think of all of the time you are saving by having everything readily (and beautifully!) at hand! This led me to One Of The Most Amazing Blogs I've Ever Laid Eyes Upon and I haven't stopped obsessing since! It's hard to choose a favorite of her blogs, and this Home Management Binder sure doesn't make it any easier to choose! She even gives ideas for tabs and labels and even links to the printables!

Ps. If you head over to her page to try out this binder, make sure you check out her 21 Day Challenge. It's an amazing challenge for organization, and this binder is step #1! I'll be starting this over the summer while the kids are at camp, but I can hardly wait!

8.

This Magic Potion is such a simple, easy and fun idea! Basically you freeze different Kool-Aids in your cube tray. Once frozen, poor a fresh cup of Sprite (or any clear citrusy drink w/carbonation) and as the ice melts the flavor and color of the drink changes with it! Definitely a fun treat!

9.

This pin is another one of the super simple "Why didn't I think of that?" ideas. Really, it's so simple there isn't even a tutorial - just a picture!

10.

Why not try a recipe holder? The beauty in this find is that I already have a cute frame w/cute fabric just waiting for a clothespin and rosette! We have GoodSmiths to thank for this tutorial, and head's up: she Mod Podges cute scrapbooking paper instead of the fabric. Such a cute idea!!
